Seeking R.A.W. Talent (Ready, Able, and Willing)…

Does that describe you when it comes to your past, current, or future interest regarding a committee, event or program at the Chamber? As we look towards the New Year and begin to put into place the leaders to help guide and direct these various activities, we want to be sure and open up as many opportunities for as many people as possible. Have you thought about or hoped someone would ask you to be a committee or event chair? Have you wanted to help take an event or program to the next level with your energy, ideas, and enthusiasm? Well, wait no longer.

Unlike many other organizations which hunkered down and actually did away with many of their programs and services, the Mt Juliet Chamber of Commerce actually increased these to try and better serve you when the economy became more and more uncertain. We found that it was during the difficult times that our customers and friends needed the Chamber more, certainly not less! As a result of that, your Chamber of Commerce now has more to offer than ever before. Along with these programs and services, there are many new opportunities for lots of folks to get involved.

If you want to simply participate but are not ready to take on a leadership role, that is perfectly fine. Maybe now is the time to start taking advantage of some of the new services we offer to see how we can be of even greater benefit to you and your business. If you have been involved in a committee and you wish to take a more active role in the leadership of that committee, please let us know. We are very fortunate to have many very dedicated volunteers who give so unselfishly of their time, talents, and resources. Like nearly everyone else these days, they are busy too. In order to keep our programs, events, and committees fresh, relevant, and inclusive; we need your input. And, if you are one of those who is not only ready and able, but also willing; then there is a role for you! Why not make 2010 YOUR year to make an even greater difference?

If your interest has been piqued and you want to know more; please give me a call, email me, or stop by so we can talk about some of the many opportunities available. What about a NEW program or service you think we need to be offering or might want to consider offering at some point in the future? By all means, please share those ideas too. Not having been born in the south, I was not familiar with what a “Double Dog Dare” included. Since meeting my wife, Tonya (born and raised right here in MJ) that term has come to symbolize a saying used when you REALLY-REALLY want someone to do something. So to everyone who has been waiting until just the right time to jump in with both feet and join the fun; I “Double Dog Dare” YOU to step up and help us make 2010 the best yet for your Chamber of Commerce. We know you are out there, we know you are Ready and certainly Able; what we need to know is if you are also Willing?
