Mission Statement Since 1978, the Mt. Juliet / West Wilson County Chamber of Commerce has been committed to building a stronger business community by facilitating community leadership to create economic prosperity. In partnership with over 450 member businesses, we are committed to continual improvement of the community, schools, economy, and quality of life through a wide variety of programs. The Chamber works to positively impact the economic vitality and enhance the quality of life in the region, while supporting the growth and prosperity of Chamber-member businesses. Our office is located at 46 West Caldwell Street, just north of the railroad tracks. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00-4:30. Please feel free to contact us at (615) 758-3478 or by email if you have any questions. What does the Chamber of Commerce do? One of our many functions is to serve as a clearing house for information. We will supply you with street maps, statistical data, industrial guides, or any type of information you may need. The Chamber of Commerce is a catalyst, a common vehicle through which the mutual interests of all segments of the business community work together for the common good of the community. A better community means better business. We do whatever is necessary to keep our community's economic condition such that people will be willing to risk their resources here in the hope of making a profit. If you stop and look around you and see all the good things happening, you see a lot of dedicated people behind everyone of them, the people of the community and all the businesses who are members of the Chamber of Commerce. Our members provide the ideas, the drive, the goals, the funds and the voluntary service to keep the chamber going. While those words (or something similar) are what we hear at the start of the Kentucky Derby and other horse races, it also describes the first couple of months here at the Chamber as well. If the Chamber Year was to be compared to a large oval racetrack then you would say we are about to enter turn one with three more turns (quarters) to go. And if I were the race announcer and giving the updates at each length of the track I would be very excited about our track position! I would be raising my voice and letting folks know that we are ahead of the pack and looking strong. I might even be so excited that I would say we have opened up a gap already as we head into turn one. Albeit that 2010 still has a long way to go and the race will have its bumps along the way, and we may have unexpected competition along the way; but so far so good! A lot of preparation, training, hard work, and experience goes into winning these annual races, and it is great to know that your Chamber is up to the challenge.
